Acceptable Use & Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2, 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy (the “Policy”) governs your use of NarrateIQ (the “Service”). By creating an account, uploading content, or generating lessons, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Your content, your responsibility
NarrateIQ converts text, documents, URLs, and other materials you provide (“User Content”) into audio lessons. You are solely responsible for the User Content you submit and for the lessons you generate from it. You represent and warrant that:
- You own the User Content, or you have all necessary rights, licenses, consents, and permissions to upload it and to have it processed, transformed, narrated, stored, and shared through the Service.
- Your use of the User Content and the resulting lessons does not and will not infringe, misappropriate, or violate the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, contractual, or other rights of any third party.
- You have obtained any consents required to process personal data contained in your User Content, including from the individuals it identifies.
- The User Content complies with all applicable laws, including copyright, trademark, defamation, export-control, and data-protection laws in your jurisdiction.
2. Copyright and intellectual property
You must not upload, paste, link, or otherwise submit content that you do not have the right to use. This includes, without limitation, copyrighted books, articles, course materials, transcripts, lyrics, scripts, paid newsletters, paywalled content, or proprietary internal documents that you are not authorized to share with a third-party processing service.
NarrateIQ responds to valid notices of alleged copyright infringement. If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice including: (i) your contact information, (ii) identification of the copyrighted work, (iii) the URL or location of the allegedly infringing material, (iv) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, (v) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf, and (vi) your physical or electronic signature. Send notices to the contact address listed on the Service. We may remove content and terminate accounts of repeat infringers.
3. Prohibited uses
You will not, and will not allow anyone else to, use the Service to:
- upload, generate, distribute, or store content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, hateful, or that incites violence;
- generate sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, or content that sexualizes real people without consent;
- clone, imitate, or impersonate a real person’s voice or likeness without their explicit, documented permission;
- produce deepfakes, disinformation, election interference content, or material designed to deceive about the source, authorship, or authenticity of speech;
- generate content intended to facilitate illegal activity, weapons of mass destruction, malware, fraud, scams, phishing, or harm to critical infrastructure;
- provide regulated professional advice (medical, legal, financial, psychiatric) as if it were authoritative without qualified human oversight;
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access, security, rate-limiting, billing, or usage controls;
- scrape, mirror, reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the underlying models, prompts, embeddings, or training data of the Service;
- resell, sublicense, white-label, or expose the Service as a competing API or generation product without a written commercial agreement;
- interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or the networks connected to it, including via automated traffic, denial-of-service attacks, or probing for vulnerabilities;
- upload malware, viruses, or any code intended to damage, exfiltrate, or compromise systems or data;
- use the Service to develop a product that competes with NarrateIQ, or to benchmark or train competing AI models.
4. AI-generated output
Lessons are generated by AI systems and may contain inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or outdated information, including “hallucinated” facts. Output is provided for informational and educational purposes only. You are responsible for reviewing, verifying, and deciding whether to rely on or publish any output. Do not use AI output as a substitute for qualified professional advice in regulated domains.
As between you and NarrateIQ, you retain whatever rights you have in your User Content. Rights in AI-generated output vary by jurisdiction and may not be protectable by copyright. You are responsible for ensuring your use of output does not infringe third-party rights.
5. Account security
You must keep your login credentials confidential and are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access. You must provide accurate registration information and keep it current. You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, or have verifiable parental consent.
6. Enforcement
We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, investigate suspected violations, remove or refuse to process content, suspend or terminate accounts, limit access to features, withhold or reverse output, and cooperate with law enforcement. We may preserve and disclose information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to comply with the law, enforce this Policy, or protect the rights, safety, or property of NarrateIQ, our users, or the public.
7. Indemnification
To the maximum extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless NarrateIQ, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your User Content; (b) lessons or other output you generate, download, share, or publish; (c) your use of or inability to use the Service; (d) your violation of this Policy or any applicable law; or (e) your violation of any third-party right, including intellectual-property, privacy, publicity, or contractual rights.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, RELIABILITY, AVAILABILITY, OR QUIET ENJOYMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL NARRATEIQ OR ITS SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (a) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO NARRATEIQ FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (b) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES; IN SUCH JURISDICTIONS, OUR LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE GREATEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.
10. Third-party services and content
The Service may fetch content from third-party sources you provide (for example, URLs you paste) and may route generation through third-party AI, voice, and infrastructure providers. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, services, or terms. Your use of any third-party content remains subject to that content’s license and applicable law.
11. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for any violation of this Policy, for non-payment, for security or fraud risk, or as otherwise reasonably necessary. You may stop using the Service at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Indemnification, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, and this paragraph) will survive.
12. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
13. Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data NarrateIQ collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have. It applies in addition to the rest of this Policy.
Who we are / data controller. The Service is operated by Aston Auto Innovation (trading as NarrateIQ). For personal data we collect about you in connection with the Service, Aston Auto Innovation acts as the data controller. You can reach us via the contact address listed on the Service.
13.1 Data we collect
- Account data: name, email address, hashed password (or OAuth identifier if you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google), and account preferences.
- User Content: text, documents, URLs, prompts, and other materials you submit, plus the audio lessons, transcripts, quizzes, and study artifacts generated from them.
- Usage data: lesson counts, token and character usage, voice minutes, feature interactions, device and browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, and timestamps.
- Billing data: plan, subscription status, and transaction identifiers. Card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored on our servers.
- Cookies and similar technologies: strictly necessary cookies for authentication and session management, and limited analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage. You can control cookies in your browser; disabling strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in.
13.2 How we use your data
- to provide, secure, and operate the Service;
- to generate, store, and deliver lessons and related output;
- to authenticate you and protect your account;
- to bill you, prevent fraud, and comply with tax and accounting obligations;
- to debug, monitor performance, and improve features and quality;
- to communicate with you about your account, transactions, security, and material changes to the Service;
- to comply with legal obligations and enforce this Policy and our Terms.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your User Content to train foundation AI models.
13.3 Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data under one or more of the following bases: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests (operating and securing the Service), compliance with legal obligations, and your consent (where required, for example for non-essential cookies).
13.4 Sharing with third parties
We share data only as needed to run the Service, with vendors acting as our processors under contractual confidentiality and security obligations:
- cloud hosting, database, and storage providers;
- AI, text-to-speech, and language model providers used to generate lessons;
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record (“MoR”), which handles checkout, payment processing, billing, tax compliance, invoicing, subscription management, and refunds for all paid NarrateIQ orders. See Paddle’s Privacy Notice;
- analytics and error-monitoring providers;
- authentication providers (for example Google, if you sign in with OAuth).
We may also disclose data when required by law, to respond to lawful requests from public authorities, to enforce this Policy, or in connection with a corporate transaction (such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets), with notice where required.
13.5 International transfers
We may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms for transfers out of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland.
13.6 Retention
We retain account, User Content, and usage data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, accounting, security, and dispute-resolution obligations. You can delete lessons from within the Service and request account deletion at any time, after which we will delete or anonymize personal data unless we are required to retain it.
13.7 Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures — including encryption in transit, access controls, row-level database security, and least-privilege server-side credentials — to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; you use the Service at your own risk and must safeguard your credentials.
13.8 Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR, UK GDPR, and the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, update, port, restrict, or delete your personal data, to object to certain processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address listed on the Service. We will verify your request and respond within the time required by applicable law.
13.9 Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
13.10 Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy section from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice.
14. Contact
Questions about this Policy, privacy requests, or notices of alleged infringement or abuse may be sent to the contact address listed on the Service.
